Purpose, audience, scope, limitations.

Why this site exists

ShortForm Studio started as an internal scratchpad — a place to stash the formulas and thresholds that consistently show up in short-video production: LUFS targets per platform, caption reading speeds, hook weights, hashtag density scores. The kind of numbers you look up for the fifth time and wish you had bookmarked somewhere with a calculator attached.

The 33 tools on this site are the working versions of that scratchpad. Each one solves a specific bottleneck: a hook that is too vague, a music bed that ducks wrong, a colour palette that fights captions, an upload time that misses your audience. They are organised by where they belong in your workflow — Plan, Shoot, Edit, Export, Distribute — so a creator can move through them in the order they actually edit.

Who it is for

• Solo creators publishing 3+ short videos a week who want a second opinion before uploading.
• Small agencies standardising briefs across multiple clients and platforms.
• Editors building a sanity-check workflow before delivering a cut.
• Educators teaching short-form craft to students who need structured, defensible numbers.

What it is not

• It is not an AI script writer. We do not generate content; we evaluate the structure of yours.
• It is not a trend scraper. Recommendations are framework-based, not pulled from live platform APIs.
• It is not a replacement for analytics. We do not read your account and never ask for credentials.
• It is not a guarantee of virality. Even a 95/100 score depends on timing, niche and audience fit.

Limitations we keep front of mind

Platform specifications change. TikTok normalises to one LUFS today and may change tomorrow. Instagram tweaks caption safe zones when the Reels UI updates. We document durable principles (read characters per second, relative bitrate ranges, caption safe-band logic) so the recommendations hold across minor platform shifts — but always cross-check critical numbers with the platform's current creator documentation.

How it is built

Static HTML, Tailwind CSS for layout, inline JavaScript for the calculators. There are no trackers, no analytics scripts, no chat widgets, no A/B testing tools. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded. This page is intentionally boring on the inside so the tools stay trustworthy on the outside.

Summary in plain English

This site does not collect personal data from you. We do not ask for your name, email, phone, account credentials or platform handle. The tools run entirely in your browser. The only data that leaves your device is what is described below under Advertising and Standard web logs.

What data this site does NOT collect

• No account creation or login.

No guarantee of results

Short-video metrics (views, retention, engagement, virality) are determined by algorithms and audience behaviour outside our control. A high score from any tool on this site does not guarantee a successful post. A low score does not guarantee failure. The tools measure structural inputs, not outcomes.

Platform specifications may change

Recommended upload limits, LUFS targets, caption safe zones, aspect ratios and ad placement policies are subject to change by the platforms themselves. We strive to keep recommendations current, but always confirm against the platform's official creator documentation before building a workflow around a specific number.
